|Title of the Dream||Visit to the Future|
|Description of Dream||My Visit To the Future – May 2010
I call this my visit because rather than a dream I feel that I was actually in the future. When I woke up I told my husband that I was actually in the future (he said, you didn’t leave the bed). But I know I was there.
I was standing in the front yard of a house that had a small flower garden in the front and a white fence across the front. There was a young lady about 15 or 16 years old bending down working on the garden. She turned around and I said, “Hi, I’m from the past”. She led me up the small steps into the house. There was a living room on the left with two couches facing each other in front of a stone fireplace. We proceeded straight back down a hallway into a bedroom. There were two beds in the room, one long ways and out from the wall to the left and one along the back wall.
She walked over behind the bed on the left and I told her that I was from the past and if there was anything she wanted to know about the past I could tell her. She asked, “What year are you from?” and I told her 2010. She got this really sad look in her eyes and her shoulders slumped and she said, “Oh”.
I said, “Why what happened?” She said, “I’m not allowed to talk to you about it.” I said, “Can’t you give me a hint or something? Anything?”
About that time two other girls walked into the room and went over to the other bed. They were about 11 or 12 years old. They didn’t even seem to notice that I was there. It seemed like they were just friends gabbing and messing around like friends do.
I turned back around to the older girl and she was mouthing a word to me (like a hint that I had asked for) that looked like the word “block” or “blalock” or “baylock”.
Then a young boy about 8 or 9 walked in the room and stood over by the door and a man who seemed like their father stood in the doorway. The boy had a thick book in his hands open to about the middle of the book. I went over to the boy and said I was from the past and asked if there was anything I could help him with. He pointed to a word and asked me what it meant. (This is the only thing that I can’t remember in the whole visit is what that word was. I know it was a simple word like “spring” or “happiness” because I was really surprised that they didn’t know the word.) I explained the word to the boy.
Then I asked the boy what he was reading and he said the books name was “Logan”. I said like the book “Logan’s Run” then said, “did you ever see the movie it was really good”, as I walked toward the father. Then the father said something about that all the movies were kept by a group of men and that they (the family) weren’t allowed to see them. I was distracted while the father was talking and so just heard what he was saying while I was thinking about something else (probably the movie “Logan’s Run”, I do this all the time to my husband and he hates it, my mind is always going at a mile a minute).
The father then said, “It’s time for you to go”. (I think he was irritated that I wasn’t listening to him). We walked back through the door and through the kitchen. It was small with cupboards on the wall to my right and a table against the hallway wall on my left, with chairs around it.
I was telling him as we went that since I was from the past if there was anything he wanted to know or something he wanted to know how to work I would be glad to help. As he stood there I said, “If you want to know anything you had better speak soon since I could disappear at any time.” He then pointed to a kind of statue made up of a lot of different things somehow hooked together that was sitting in front of the fireplace and asked what a piece of it was. I looked at it and immediately knew that it was a microscope. I figured that the glass must have been broken out of it or he would know what it was. I said, “it’s a microscope”. As I was trying to figure out how to explain to him how it worked I walked over to look at it closer and as I bent down I could feel myself leaving and then I was in my bed.
Two things strike me about this visit. First is that no one seemed to be surprised that I was there, as if this happened a lot. The second is that normally if I have a dream I have a hard time remembering them and if I do then usually I only remember the end of it, this visit I immediately remembered all of it (except that one word) and it had a flow and consistency like a normal waking day.
