I opened my refrigerator door and was shocked to see all food gone. On the shelves were smaller versions of metal containers that I think I've seen beer stored in.

I heard our daughter say "This is a bad attitude." I didn't know if she was referring to me or whomever took all of our food and especially my beloved-milk.

I went to her bedroom door and said, "Can I just ask where my milk is?"

I was awakened by something here at home, then.

Monday December 8, 2014

It is the middle of school term and my Mom has paid for me to come home for the weekend. I am not at my home in real life. Our skeleton of a home is next to a lake or ocean. By skeleton I mean most of the structure is missing. No room has more than two walls, white and opposite each other. Only the rooms closest to the lake have a ceiling and a floor. When I turn around and face away from the water the beach reminds me most of Antarctica. The gray lava rock has been broken down by millions of years of erosion into nearly sand, which has slid down the volcanic cone all the way into the water covering everything in its path. The buildings that do exists are long since abandoned and have been victims of weather and time. There is no plant life here at all. It feels more like an alien world than the terra firma we call Earth. I might as well be in a space suit looking at a lake of methane.
The beach has covered most of the floors. I don't know that we are on a volcano, but these Antarctic volcanic islands describe the setting perfectly. Even the sky matches, presenting a dull gray blanket of texture-less cloud cover. Everything is covered in this gray-black sand and rock except the few rooms in the front that stick out over the water. I arrive home in the late afternoon and spend the first evening with my Mom in one of the front rooms. The only furniture is a small television set on the edge next to the water, a single recliner in which my Mom lays, and some couch or something which I cannot see because I am sitting in it. We vegetate and watch television.
My dog Spencer is laying on the beach behind us. He is in a different room, the family room, which has no ceiling, no floor (or at least the floor is covered in beach), and no wall to separate him from us. At some point later that night or the next morning I get up out of my seat and walk over to him. He is laying curled up in a ball, head on the right, facing us just watching. I walk over and he picks up his head to greet me. I kiss him, hug him, pet him, and just give him some attention. I think about him. I had come home two or three weeks ago from school to visit him because he wasn't doing so well. He wasn't eating or walking, but the vet was able to cure him. He must have been eating while I was gone because he could only survive so long without food. A spike of endogenous chemicals (adrenaline?) shoots into my bloodstream as I realize why I was summoned home and I feel a complex emotion consisting of some combination of panic, fear, regret, and a sense that time is running out. I was brought home for the same reason as last time- Spencer is dying. God dammit! Why did I waste so much time last night?!? I spent the whole night watching television and ignoring him when I could've been laying with him doing the exact same thing. I feel terrible.
I bring him a scoop full of kibble for dinner and dump it on the floor in front of him. He begins eating some. I listen to the hollow crunching sound his teeth make inside his snout. My ears pick out the way the pitch of that sound drops and becomes muffled as he grinds the kibble into smaller pieces and it moves towards the back of his mouth. My Mom calls to me from the other room "Make sure you give him the small kibble!" This confuses me because we keep one giant tub of dog food, and there is only one size.
"Okaaaaayy." I yell back. He's eating the food so he must be fine. I spend time with him.
Time doesn't really exist here. There is a chronology of events and the time I have both here and with Spencer is finite, but the environment itself is timeless. That's why I couldn't really tell whether it was day or night earlier. The sun never sets. Likewise, at some point I look up and see a man standing over Spencer and I. He is at least sixty years old. He is white, has white hair, and wears square-ish glasses. In his right hand is a metal power tool which I cannot make out right away. This man is here to euthanize Spencer. The death warrant is already signed by my Mom and in his hands. I know intellectually that he is going to be given a lethal dose of pentobarbital and will fall asleep in peace, but my brain has finally recognized the power tool in the man’s hand. It is a circular power saw. I begin crying. But- but... "He ate food! He doesn't need to die! He got better!" I beg to my Mom, I beg to him; to anyone in earshot. I lean over Spencer, who is still laying on the floor, and put my face on his rib cage and cry. I wrap my arms around him and embrace him. He is warm and full of life.

I am at my house in <home city>, but it doesn't quite look the same as in real life. Out of nowhere, Daniel comes over and invites himself in. He is Daniel, but he actually looks more like Tyler- skinny, tall, white, curly hair, thin wire-frame glasses, and a white t-shirt. He walks into the family room and gets on my Mom's computer. He starts showing me this new cryptocurrency whose genesis block was mined only hours ago. He begins telling me about how it has the perfect trifecta of properties to become the next popular cryptocurrency. This all happens all of a sudden and he came in without asking, so I tell him he has to leave. He stands up from the computer, faces me, and refuses to leave. I begin pushing him out of the room and towards the door. He is really scrawny, so I don't expect him to be able to do anything about it. He pushes back until my back is against the wall. He has his hands on my shoulders, restraining me. I swing my left elbow across his face, but miss. He just grins. I throw a second bow with the same arm, and this time I make contact with his jaw. He steps back a little and punches me in the face. I punch him in the face repeatedly: left, right, left, right... I sort of get tunnel vision and get sucked into it. He throws a few more punches, landing most of them, but I don't stop. Left-right, left-right, left-right. I just keep punching, and counting each one. I reach 56 punches before I finally stop. He is weak. Not unconscious or even bleeding that much, but he is mostly limp and not fighting back anymore. I drag his ass to the front door and toss him out of my house. I feel accomplished. I have never been in a fight before, and this has gone a lot better than I expected my first fight would go. I won. I feel stronger.
I am still kind of in a daze. I sit down in the chair in front of my Mom's computer and sort of stare off into space. The web browser is open to the block explorer of the cryptocurrency Daniel was trying to show me. I just watch the blocks stream by for a while. The network is finding a new one about once per second. Each time a new block is found, the miner who discovered that block is paid 65,535 coins. I watch the money stream by. You know, Daniel is pretty smart. That is a lot of money. He did have a good idea. He was trying to share the wealth with me, and I threw his ass out. I look at the download link for the mining program. The logo is Scooby-Doo's head. I download it and try to install it, but for some reason I can't get it to install.
Soon my Dad comes over. Either I say something or he sees my face, because he starts asking me questions about the fight. He doesn't approve of violence, but a part of him is proud of me. Before I can answer all his questions my Mom and my sister get home. My Mom is the only one who walks in the door. We talk for a minute and then we all proceed out the front door and around the side of the house towards the back yard. It is a sunny and warm afternoon. We open the gate and Alyssa is there. I get nervous about my Dad being here, but he doesn't leave. What is going on? Then he asks her if she is coming over to his house later, to which she replies yes. WHAT?!? We all walk into the back yard and spend about an hour clearing dirt and mud out of this concrete drainage ditch in front of the back porch. We get it completely clear of mud and go back inside to watch TV. Daniel is back. I invite him inside. Neither of us apologize, but we do make up and hang out as friends. Everyone watches Criminal Minds on TV.
After a while we're involved in an intense scene where someone is getting tortured. The actor is screaming out in agony. We are startled by a knock on the door, and I see Dave with his young daughter on the front porch. I frantically race to pause Netflix as my Mom approaches the front door to let them in. She lets them in and the girl is walking in front of the TV screen before I am able to pause it.

Saturday January 24th, 2015

I am in <My Home City> walking a mile from my house to the corner with James. We are on the south sidewalk, already past the grocery store. Its daytime, but it is late in the day and the clouds are piling up to a thick gray color. They are behind us to the west, but I keep looking back to keep an eye on them. They move and change every time I look at them. We walk all the way past the church on the right and get up to the empty lot next to the old High School. I look back and the clouds are churning and building up. As we approach the corner, the entire sky suddenly flows west. The impending storm clouds flow away, and the scene falls into night. We cross the road and look at the empty bus stop on the other side of the intersection. We look the other way to a building on the northwest corner. It’s small, with one POS terminal in a cove in the front of the building where you can buy bus tickets. There is one lone light over the terminal. We walk up to it, and James starts playing on the touchscreen. It has a nicely made, full color blue GUI where you can purchase bus passes. After a moment or two he is able to break out of the UI. The terminal is running Linux. The underlying OS looks like something out of the eighties- not entirely command line, but not entirely GUI. I watch the screen as he somehow gets us a $65.17 credit. I slide my backpack off my shoulder and set it by my feet. I turn around, lean against the building, and watch the street. Soon I see three men walking over from the other side of the road. I glance back at the screen and see James has gotten the terminal to run Google Chrome. The men are closer and I can see one is a police officer in a tan uniform. The other two are dressed up nicely, but not in a uniform. I bet they work for the bus depot. The walk up and talk to me, but between James and I they cannot see the screen yet. I greet them and we talk for a minute. They begin to suspect something and lay into James, asking him a bunch of questions and stuff. I intervene: "Look, you need evidence to accuse us of a crime, and I know you don't have any evidence because there is no crime going on here." I say one or two more things before I make a joke. They all laugh at it, and I quickly switch to a friendly demeanor. I turn around and James has Netflix pulled up on the terminal. The five of us stand there for a while talking and watching Netflix.

I am with my dogs. I am hugging and petting Spencer and Sidney. Sidney is really into it. He begins circling around me and rubbing his fur up against me. I bury my face in his fur and give him a bunch of kisses. He whispers in my ear a few times while I am petting him: "I love you." I respond audibly, "I love you too Sidney!" I hug him and kiss him. He is incredibly happy to see me. It is great to be with my dogs.

I'm in a residential setting. I meet this kid about my age. He is male, a little taller than me, a little older than me, and pretty average. We are in a city fractured by water, the way Fort Myers or Miami are. This city has a residential district on one peninsula and a downtown district on another peninsula, separated by a river or bay and connected by a bridge. It is nighttime and the water is black. The city is made of dozens and dozens of skyscrapers, all lit up. We drive over the bridge into the downtown area. On the left is a plain concrete building, but which has interesting geometry and trees planted around it. We park in the road and walk over to the building. It is a public tower, almost like a parking garage. It has outdoor patios with small trees planted in them at regular intervals going up the building, which cause the size of the building to step down as you go higher up. We climb the stairwell to the first patio. A group of girls are hanging out. They're very friendly and they approach us to introduce themselves. We are conversing and some of the girls come onto us.
We climb the rest of the way up the tower and the girls follow us. It's so high up here! The skyscrapers look beautiful, outlined and illuminated with lights of every color you can imagine. You can even see the massive lake that sits on the other end of the downtown area. I walk over to the edge and look down. I see dozens of people walking around the plaza below. They're incredibly small, but still identifiable. I look to my friend and ask him if I can try. He unballs the suit and hands me a piece. The piece I'm holding is clear plastic and in the shape of the wings. "Let me go once to show you how it's done."
"Okay!" He stands near the edge of the tower for a while. This blonde girl is sitting by the edge. She tells me about her foot. "I hurt it at F-something Festival today. I stepped on glass or something."
"Awe, that's terrible! They usually do a pretty good job making it safe to go around barefoot."
My friend walks over to me and says "Let me do it from a lower level to get over my middies and then I'll go from the top." I feel skeptical.
"Okay," I respond.
"Meet me on level 54." He starts off and everyone parades down the stairs after him. He walks to the edge and steps on the ledge. He spreads his wings out and stands there. There is absolutely no wind. He slowly tilts forward until gravity takes hold and his feet leave the ledge and he begins gliding. He glides so flat! I am surprised at how far he goes forward for each foot he falls. Suddenly he gets stuck in the very top of some trees. I didn't even see them before he ran into them. They're planted a few stories down on another patio. I yell to him and try to help him inch worm out of the tree without damaging the suit. He just squirms aimlessly until he falls out of the tree.

No Mission
There was what I can only describe as a augmented reality game, think Microsoft Lens, but maybe in contact form as we weren't wearing headsets.
The game could be played anywhere, in this case I think the first round was around our neighborhood, but the second round was definitely at a department store. The game played exactly like the player vs. player in Destiny, where, helped by whatever device we were using, you would switch between weapons, see a radar of where "enemies" were, would change reticles for you when you zoomed in, and show how much "damage" you were doing with each shot.
During this match the server glitched so we were keeping score manually.
This also must have been Christmas Day or Thanksgiving as my mom had brought her dishes to the department store to be cleaned, but was upset because they had decided to cook the turkey there as well.
The dream ended with us arguing about the overall point totals while we were waiting to check out.

I was 12 in my dream, My step brother(same age) was driving a car, we got into an accident, and I lost a stuffed animal from my childhood. Don't remember if I found it. Then I was with my step mom, dad and siblings, we were on our way to mexico. We crossed through the amazon river infested with snakes. Arriving in mexico I was alone, it was a desert area with a small cabin and a guy out front with a sign saying welcome to mexico.

I was in a community hall that fit somewhere between 50 and 100 people. It was in a smaller town, possibly Airdrie, Alberta. I was trying to entertain people with some magic tricks and of course had a pretty assistant. She was standing on a chair in front of me and I was to do something like make her hover or disappear, but I kept on getting interrupted by important events so people were pretty disinterested in what we were doing. They were really there for a community meeting so we were just some break time entertainment anyway.

Note: As I recalled the dream I asked my mind what it meant and got the immediate answer: "Nothing - it is just a chorus of voices".

I saw the 4 Horsemen from "Now you see me" getting ready to do another glorious bank heist, but there was a twist. They were given 3 (or maybe 4) options for how to do it, and all but one option would somehow lead to very bad detriments (such as the death of a member or a loved one). It was not obvious from the choices which one would be the safe one.

Note: Has day residue as I watched "Now you see me" last night. Although a sequel to this movie has been announced, the plot is still hidden at this time.
